Encouraging the development of leadership within our students is an important focus of the culture of the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School Welfare Program.
We consider a leader to be a person who able to see ‘the big picture’, who is willing to serve others, encouraging them to reach their potential, rather than focusing on themselves. Leaders must be hard-working, capable and reliable. They should be a positive example for others, be able to work in a team and be able to take personal responsibility for their actions and development.
In Year 8, avenues for leadership development are as Junior House Vice Captains and in roles as the leaders within the Middle School.
Year 12 students can become School Vice Captains and Captains (boy and girl for both), members of the Student Executive, Sport House Captains, or Church Time Leaders.
Beyond these formal pathways, numerous leadership opportunities exist within other school activities including: music, drama and various teams, sport, debating, mock trial, chess etc.
